Jets lineman Xavier Newman suffered a neck injury and was carted off the field in a concerning incident during the game against the Steelers.

 


New York Jets offensive lineman Xavier Newman sustained a serious injury during the "Sunday Night Football" game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh and had to be carted off the field.

Newman was injured in the third quarter after being hit while blocking following a Steelers interception at Acrisure Stadium.

According to NFL reports, he suffered a neck injury and was stabilized on a backboard before being taken off on a cart. NBC Sports' Melissa Stark mentioned that Newman had movement in his limbs.

Paramedics transported him to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center located four miles from the stadium, for evaluation, as noted by Mike Tirico during the NBC broadcast.
